| The Statesboro-Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Department offers an extensive youth football program for ages 5 to 12. We offer flag football and tackle football leagues.
Our program provides an opportunity for youth to participate in a fun, organized and safe football environment. The football program runs September through October. The Flag Football league provides youth the opportunity to learn the basic rules and fundamentals of the game in a noncompetitive environment. All flag football players receive a team jersey and participate in practices and games.
Three Tackle Football leagues are offered by SBCPRD. The Tiny Mite Tackle League introduces players to the basic level of fundamentals and techniques and builds on skills learned in the Flag league. The Minor Tackle league builds on the fundamentals learned in the Tiny Mite league by introducing the basic skills of tackle football. Certified volunteer coaches and department or experienced staff focus on teaching basic techniques that a player will use in the Minor Tackle league and in the future. The Midget Tackle league introduces players to the finer points of football. Standings are kept in this league and teams advance to end of the season bowl games.
The age control date is September 1, 2016. |
